RUFFSPORT STUDENTS

I was first introduced to DockDogs at a Flyball Tournament in Binbrook, ON. That weekend we were playing Flyball and DockDogs. I had hopes that my LabX would do well, he always jumps off the dock! My beagle I was not sure if she would do it at all…. Well to my surprise Phoebe the Beagle took to it very well and had a great time. She liked the sport just as much as flyball, and, she loves flyball! Major Tom the LabX, well, he would not jump at all. I didn’t loose hope. In the spring at the home show in Toronto DockDogs was offering training sessions during the week. Well that is when I showed up, and with the help of Heather, Grant and Jeff, Major started to jump! I was thrilled!!! Heather has been a great friend, and has provided great training and guidance ever since! Heather has a great eye for detail when training; she provides great feedback and help in all her training sessions. I strongly recommend Heather as a trainer to anyone who can get to her sessions – they a must to a DockDog in training – a dog looking for just a fun day at the pool. She loves to work with the dogs – and you can see that with her own dogs. Heather’s dogs are a testament to her training abilities; they are very well rounded dogs that compete in many sports! Her positive methods make training fun and exciting! Thanks Heather for the all the help and support over the years. You are an amazing trainer and a great inspiration!!!!

We were first introduced to DockDogs in Winchester in September 2007.  After watching Heather helping people and their dogs all day and her stunning performance with her own dogs (Cheyenne & Diesel).  I decided to try and contact her by posting a message the next day on the Ontario DockDogs message board.  The rest as they say is history, she and I became very good friends and she has spent countless hours with us, offering advice and training tips.  Heather is always positive about everything and is never seen without a big smile on her face.  She has helped us tremendously and since we became RuffSport students and began training with her Bond has doubled his jumping distance from 8'7" to 16'9"!!  We couldn't have accomplished what we did without her dedication and knowledge.
